What stays the same
For the requests most applications actually make, the two APIs cover the same ground:
- URL or raw HTML in; PNG, JPEG or WebP out
- Full page, element, region and viewport captures
- Retina output, dark mode, transparent background
- Block ads; hide cookie banners and arbitrary selectors
- Headers, cookies and authorization for pages behind a login
- Wait for a selector or for network idle
- PDFs with paper sizes, margins, headers and footers
